Introduction
The Px4 Storm is a modern pistol of Italian origin. It was designed in the early 2000's by Beretta for civilian and law enforcement use. It replaced the Cougar line of pistols in production.
Design
The Px4 uses design elements from the Cougar and M92 series. It uses the short recoil and rotating barrel mechanism of the Cougar and many other features derived from the M92. The Px4 has a polymer frame and fully enclosed steel slide. Four mechanical types exists: single and double action or double action only, each with and without manual safety. The backstrap is available in several sizes and an accessory rail is fitted below the barrel.
Firepower
The full size Px4 comes in 9x19mm, .40 S&W and .45 Auto with a magazine capacity of respectively 17, 14 and 10 rounds. All models are semi-automatic only. The effective range is quoted as 50 meters for the 9mm model and 25 meters for the .40 and .45 models.
Users
The Px4 is in limited law enforcement and military use. With its sleek design it is well suited for concealed carry and the adjustable grip is a desireable feature for law enforcement use.
